Great Friday out on the water with a top-notch crew. I headed out on Friday during the June sea bass season with Ocean Explorer. Since the gear I have with me up here is a bit too lightweight for this kind of fishing, I rented a rod right at the boat, which worked out perfectly. The boat itself was definitely catching better than I was on this particular day. I managed to bring home a couple of keeper ling and put back a few short sea bass that were just under the limit. Meanwhile, the lucky guy fishing right next to me put on a masterclass, I think he kept around 18 fish total, including ling, sea bass, and fluke. I was definitely wishing some of his luck would rub off on me. Even though my personal cooler wasn't overflowing, it was a fantastic day. The boat is very comfortable and clean, and the crew was incredibly helpful, friendly, and hard-working. Had a great day fishing despite the wind this past weekend. The boat was clean, the crew was on the spot every time you needed them. Most of the people on the boat were regulars and there was a lot of communication among the different groups and individuals. Tough opening day for Blackfish with the wind but the captain always had us on some fish, moved to find more but didn’t move around too much and let us work the spots to get the bites. Mates were always right there to assist as well. Great boat and crew!!

Had a great experience working with Captain Bobby and crew. I booked a burial at sea using a charter for 18 people. Captain Bobby was great at communicating, booking and confirming a few days before.
